Test notes

Checked on PC with Potassium and on Android with Delta, and each entry responded as described on both. Autoplay finished games without stalling, hints redrew after recalculation without resetting the position, and the depth and delay settings took effect on the next move. Stopping the engine left the board untouched.

This reflects one test at a specific point in time, not an ongoing guarantee. How we test scripts

Description

The engine reads the position at the table and returns a move, either drawing it on the board as a hint or playing it for you. Depth and timing settings decide how strong that move is and how long it takes to appear, and every one of them can be changed mid-game without leaving the table.

Hint or autoplay

The two modes read the same board, so you can start with hints and switch to automated play once you trust the output. A hint stays on the board until you recalculate, which is the way to see what a different depth or time limit would have chosen from the same position — the board does not reset when you do this, so you can compare options before committing to a move.

Depth against think time

Depth sets how many moves ahead the search runs, and the think time is the ceiling on how long it may spend getting there. Raising depth without raising the time cap means the search gets cut off partway and the move weakens rather than improves, so move both together. In modes where a clock is running, the time cap is the setting that matters: keep it comfortably under the time you have left, or the engine is still thinking when the flag falls.

Move pacing

The minimum and maximum delay bracket the gap between moves. The minimum stops the engine from answering the instant a position appears, and the maximum caps how long it will sit before acting. Leave a wide spread between the two and the pace varies naturally from move to move; set them close together and every move lands after the same pause.

Stopping

The stop entry halts the engine without touching the game state, so a position you are already in stays as it is and you can take over manually. Autoplay can be resumed from that same position rather than from the start of the game.

Mode notes

  • Casual tables run without a clock, so depth can be pushed higher there than in the timed modes.

  • Ranked and Rapid give each side ten minutes, Lightning about a minute and a half. In Lightning the delays alone can use up a meaningful share of that, so shorten them before starting.

  • Random and Pawn Battle open from positions the engine has not seen in a normal game, so the first calculation can take longer at high depth.

Ran on PC with Potassium and on Android with Delta. The menu is usable on touch, though setting depth and both delays is faster with a keyboard.
